"I watched while thrones were put in place
and the Ancient of Days sat down to judge.
His clothing was as white as snow, His hair like whitest wool.
He sat on a fiery throne with wheels of blazing fire,
and a river of fire flowed from his presence.
Millions of angels ministered to Him,
and a hundred million stood to attend to Him.
Then the court began it's session, and the books were opened."

Daniel's vision of God ~ Daniel 7:9-10 NLT
ichelangelo's rendition of "The Creation of Adam" is perhaps the most popular account of how we may envision
God in the flesh.  He created Adam in His own image and the Bible gives us some descriptive writings that assist our
minds in creating a majestic physical appearance.  Moreover, the Bible is rich with scripture that gives us a
wonderful characteristic profile of God, telling us about Him and teaching us of His ways.

He is omnipotent (all powerful) "I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted." Job
42:2 NIV
, omnipresent (present in all places at the same time) "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is
my footstool."
 Acts 7:49a NIV, and omniscient (knowing all things) "Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and
knowledge of God!"
 Romans 11:33a NIV.

All that He is can be unfathomable to us and oftentimes His will a mystery to us.  But, we can take rest in knowing
that God, The Author, always knows the outcome of all situations.  Nothing comes as a surprise to Him.  And
everything that does happen, however unexplainable to us, serves His Divine purpose.  We are to fear God; that is,
to be in complete awe of all His limitless abilities.  He is holy and righteous, dispensing just and fair wrath against his
enemies; yet abounding with infinite love, grace and mercy to those who love him.

Below, I'd like to share with you some of my favorite scriptures that describe God in His power and glory.  I hope
they will inspire you to find some favorites of your own, and to bolster your faith in knowing that you were created
by, and are loved by ....... an Awesome God!
"I am the Alpha and the Omega - the beginning and the end." says the LORD God.  "I am the one
who is, who always was, and who is still to come, the Almighty One."
Revelation 1:8 NIV

"God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him
as you have helped His people and continue to help them."
Hebrews 6:10 NIV

"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely:
for mine anger is turned away from him."
Hosea 4:14 KJV

"His wisdom is profound, his power is vast.
Who has resisted him and come out unscathed?
He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in his anger.
He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble.
He speaks to the sun and it does not shine; he seals off the light of the stars.
He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.
He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion,
the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.
He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted."
Job 9:4-10 NIV

"Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10 NIV

"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the LORD seated on a throne,
high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.  Above Him were seraphs, each with
six wings: with two wings they covered their faces, with two wings they covered their feet, and with
two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
'Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of His glory.' "
Isaiah's vision of God~Isaiah 6:1-3 NIV

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways."
Isaiah 55:8 NIV

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
even to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner
of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12 KJV

"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5b NIV

"God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him
as you have helped His people and continue to help them."
Hebrews 6:10 NIV

"In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.
The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.
He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.
He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his covering,
his canopy around him - the dark rain clouds of the sky.
Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.
He shot his arrows and scattered the enemies,
great bolts of lightning and routed them.
The valleys of the sea were exposed and
the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke,
O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils."
Psalm 18:6-15 NIV

"If you will look for Me in earnest, you will find Me when you seek Me.  I will be found by you."
Jeremiah 29:13-14 NLT

Music playing is "How Great Thou Art"
Written by Carl G. Boberg, 1885
2. When through the woods
And forest glades I wander
Sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze;
1. O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all
The works Thy Hand hath made,
I see the stars,
I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy pow'r throughout
The universe displayed;
Then sings my soul,
My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the LORD of lords.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to Him who alone does mighty miracles.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to Him who made the heavens so skillfully.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to Him who placed the earth on the water.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to Him who made the heavenly lights -
His faithful love endures forever.
the sun to rule the day,
His faithful love endures forever.
and the moon and stars to rule the night.
His faithful love endures forever."
                   Psalm 136:1-9 NLT
3. But when I think
That God, his Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die,
I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross
My burden gladly bearing
He bled and died
To take away my sin;
4. When Christ shall come,
With shouts of acclamation,
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
"My God, how great Thou art!"
